Steve Booth

Dr. Steve Booth

Academic Dean
Professor of New Testament and Greek

B.S., Clemson University; M.Div., and Ph.D., Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Booth has taught New Testament at the Baptist Theological Seminary of Budapest, Hungary from 1994-1999. He also served as the Country Representative in Hungary for the Southern Baptist International Mission Board and wrote for the Hungarian Baptist pastors' journal. Previously Dr. Booth pastored in Texas and taught at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the author of "Peak Marking Features in the Gospel of John," and "New Testament 1," a self-taught course used in decentralized theological education. Dr. Booth joined the faculty of CSBS as professor of New Testament and Greek in January, 2000.


Jimmy Cobb

Dr. Cobb has served as pastor in five churches, as well as short-term mission projects in Zambia and Malawi. He taught as an adjunct professor previously at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and served as the Director of the Seminary Extension Centre in Montreal before coming to the seminary.

Tim Williams has served as a pastor, missionary, and church planter in the United States, South Africa, and Canada.  He served as the Western Canada Church Starting Coordinator with the Canadian Convention of Southern Baptist before coming to the seminary in the fall of 2007.   Tim grew up in Liberia, West Africa and has been involved in international missions and church planting for over 20 years.  Currently, he is also on the church planting leadership team at Big Rock Baptist Church in Okotoks, Alberta.


Mike McGough

B.A. Oklahoma Baptist University; M.Div. and Ph.D., Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

Dr. Watson grew up in a missionary family that served in Costa Rica, Mexico, and Panama.  He has served for the last ten years with the International Mission Board in Lisbon, Portugal, most recently as a strategy coordinator.   Before going to Portugal, he pastored two churches in Texas.  He currently serves at Tapestry Church in northwest Calgary. He joined CSBS&C in 2007.

Kevin Peacock

Dr. Kevin Peacock

Field Education Director
Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew

B.M.E., Mississippi College; M.Div., M.A. (R.E.), and Ph.D. Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Peacock  teaches in the the theology faculty and is Director of Field Education. He has served as a pastor in Texas, interim pastor in Alberta  and in international missions in Scotland. He taught previously at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has written for Missions Mosaic, Southwestern Journal of Theology, and Biblical Illustrator.   He has taught at CSBS since January 1997.

B.S. Texas A&M University; M.DIVBL Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; Ph.D. in Archaeology/Biblical Backgrounds, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Steve has taught Old Testament Survey and Biblical Backgrounds both in the classroom and online at Southwestern from 1998 to 2003. Before moving to Canada, Steve worked at Dallas Baptist University developing courses for their Online Education program. He joined the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary in 2003.

Bill Falkner

Dr. Don McNaughton

Professor of Counseling
Director of Student Formation

B.A., Winnipeg Bible College, M.A., Providence Seminary, D.Min., McMaster University.

Dr. McNaughton has maintained a professional counseling practice since 1992, following his position with Shantyman's Christian Association where he was a mission field director. Prior to that time, he has been a mission pilot, evangelist, pastor, counsellor and chaplain to isolated areas of the Canadian west coast and sub-arctic. Dr. McNaughton is a Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counseling Association, and both a clinical member and certified supervisor for the Professional Association of Canadian Christian Counsellors (PACCC). Before joining the faculty in 2005, Dr. McNaughton provided counseling services to the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary since 1994.

Dr. Jeff Ritchey

Director of Distance Education
Professor of Religious Education

B.M., Hardin-Simmons University; M.Div., M.A.(R.E.), and Ph.D., Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Ritchey has served as a pastor and minister of education in Texas. He had directed a distance theological education program in Croatia. Dr. Ritchey has coauthored several interactive theological workbooks and has served as the interactive design editor for a Decentralized Theological Education curriculum for training leaders in Europe. He joined CSBS in 2005.


Barbara Wyman

Dr. Barbara Wyman

Professor of Religious Education

B.A. and M.A., New Mexico State University; Ph. D., University of Calgary; further study at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; Hardin-Simmons University; Escuela de Lengaus, San Jose, Costa Rica (Goshen College); Instituto de Idomas, Guadalajara, Mexico. Dr. Wyman served in short-term missionary assignments in Alaska and Oregon. She was a public school teacher and high school counselor until she was appointed as a missionary to university students in Mexico in 1969 where she also taught in the School of Nursing at Hospital Mexico/Americano. Dr. Wyman has contributed to The Baker Dictionary of Christian Education. She has served as Discipleship/Family Ministries Consultant, CCSB. Dr. Wyman has taught as a seasonal professor at the University of Calgary. She has taught at the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary since 1990.

Richard BlackabyDr. Rob Blackaby

Dr. Blackaby has served as the Senior Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Calgary, Alberta for twelve years, and has recently also been the lead church planter for Southwinds Church in the same city. He currently oversees an emerging network of churches.  From 2003-2006, he led the Canadian Convention of Southern Baptists as president.  He joined CSBS&C in 2007.

 

Susan Booth

Susan has taught Old and New Testament Survey and English at Weatherford Jr. College in Weatherford, Texas. Before moving to Canada, she served with the International Mission Board in Budapest, Hungary from 1992-99. She has taught at the International Baptist Lay Academy in Budapest and has written Old Testament 1, a self-taught course used in decentralized theological education.


Richard Blackaby

Dr. Richard Blackaby

B.A. in History, University of Saskatchewan; M.Div. and Ph.D. in Church History, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Blackaby served as senior pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, Winnipeg before coming to serve as president of the seminary in 1993. Dr. Blackaby has co-authored the following books with his father, Henry Blackaby: When God Speaks, God's Invitation, CrossSeekers, Experiencing God Day by Day, The Experience, Spiritual Leadership: Moving People on to God's Agenda, Hearing God's Voice and Called to Be God's Leader: Lessons from the Life of Joshua. He has also written articles for numerous magazines and journals and maintains an extensive speaking schedule.
