Canadian Southern Baptist College

The goal of the undergraduate programs is to provide high quality teaching and training for students seeking a theological education to equip them for leadership in churches and other Christian ministries. Short term training is also made possible for laypersons seeking theological education but not desiring to pursue a full degree.

Students in the undergraduate programs will be in an ideal place to clarify their call to Christian ministry, to grow and mature in their Christian faith, to be continually shaped by God in their Christian character, to learn more about and become better equipped in practical Christian ministry skills in the learning community at Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary. Those completing the Bachelor of Christian Ministry degree will have a broad-based education with a focus upon preparation to serve in Christian ministry. Graduates will have received foundational biblical and theological teaching, practical ministry training and experience, as well as a wide selection of general studies, equipping them to pursue a calling in ministry or to continue their studies at a seminary level.

Undergraduate Program Objectives

    Students in the undergraduate programs will receive:
  1. A solid foundation of Bible knowledge, including how the Bible is to be interpreted and how one lives out the Christian faith within a biblical worldview
  2. An understanding of the doctrines of the Christian faith from an evangelical perspective
  3. Practical training in teaching and serving in the local church including music and worship
  4. Practical training in sharing the gospel in one’s home cultural as well as an understanding of mission efforts around the world
  5. The opportunity to grow spiritually and as a Christian leader
  6. The opportunity to put ministry skills into action through a field practicum
  7. Teaching in a number of general subject areas from a Christian perspective including writing, literature, music, history, math, science, public speaking, and counseling.

Bachelor of Christian Ministry Degree

CSBS offers a 96 credit hour Bachelor of Christian Ministry Degree for men and women who have been called of God to serve in His church and for lay people who desire a biblical and theological education to enhance their ministry in the local church. Full-time students may complete this degree within three years.

Associate Diploma of Christian Ministry

CSBS offers this associate diploma, a 60 credit hour undergraduate program designed to equip church leaders and others in related ministries with the necessary tools to accomplish their leadership goals.

Certificate of Christian Studies

This certificate is offered upon completion of a 30 credit hour undergraduate program designed to provide a lay person with a general knowledge of the Bible and theology.

Samuel Program

The Samuel Program is a special one-year study/mentoring opportunity for recent high school graduates who fall below the minimum age for the Bachelor of Christian Ministry degree. The program is designed for students who have sensed a strong call of God toward some level of vocational or volunteer ministry. Samuel applicants also must demonstrate a high level of current involvement and leadership in their local church. A special application must be completed for the Samuel Program.
